A lot of Diamond Dynasty programs feel like they're built around one long grind. The Subway Series Program is different. It gives you four 99 OVR cards that can actually change the shape of a roster: John Franco, Mike Mussina, Derek Jeter, and Mike Piazza. If you've been holding onto MLB 26 Stubs for a bigger need later on, this program is worth tackling before shopping for replacements. You're getting help at catcher, shortstop, starter, and bullpen spot without having to chase every new card on the market. The real trick isn't playing for hours on end. It's setting things up so each game moves several goals forward at once. Look at the Reward Path First Before jumping into a game, take a minute to look at what each reward would do for your club. Franco arrives first, so players needing a left-handed reliever will get an early boost. Mussina follows and gives you another dependable arm for a rotation that might be short on quality starters. Jeter is the big infield prize, especially if shortstop has been a weak point. Piazza sits at the end of the path, but he's more than worth the time. Catcher can be a tough position to fill with real pop, and Piazza brings that middle-of-the-order threat. Seeing the rewards in order helps, because you'll know which upgrade is coming next rather than treating the whole program like one distant target. Grab the Fixed Points Early The cleanest opening move is to finish the Subway Series Conquest map. It delivers 50 Program Points, which is a massive chunk of the track in one go. More importantly, it gives you room to breathe afterward. You won't feel like every hit or strikeout has to be perfect because the map has already done a lot of the heavy lifting. The map also brings packs and a Vault Choice Pack, so there's a nice little payoff beyond the program progress. Once that's done, head straight to the Piazza Moment. It's a one-time task, it doesn't take long, and leaving it unfinished makes no sense. Get those easy points out of the way, then check the mission screen again. Use One Mixed Yankees and Mets Squad This is where players often slow themselves down. They'll run a Yankees lineup for a while, then switch everything over for the Mets requirements. You don't need to do that. Mix both clubs into the same lineup and let the missions overlap. Each side needs 2,000 PXP, 10 hits, and 10 strikeouts. On top of that, the shared objectives ask for 16 total bases and two homers using Yankees or Mets players. A Yankees hitter can collect a hit, add PXP, and push the total-bases count with one swing. A Mets hitter can do exactly the same thing in the next inning. Put your stronger eligible bats near the top, especially anyone with enough power to turn a mistake into a home run. It's not fancy, but it works. Pick a Mode That Fits Your Time You've got options here: Play vs CPU, Mini Seasons, Conquest, Ranked, Events, Battle Royale, Weekend Classic, and Diamond Quest can all contribute. If you just want steady progress and don't fancy dealing with online pressure, Play vs CPU is usually the calmer route. You can control the matchup, keep your Yankees and Mets starters in longer, and get more chances to pile up strikeouts. If you're already playing Ranked or Events, there's no need to step away from those modes. Just make sure your eligible players are actually in the lineup and rotation. Don't forget the pitchers, either. A couple of strong Yankees or Mets arms can clear the strikeout work while your hitters take care of the rest. Final Thoughts The Subway Series Program is most rewarding when you treat it as a roster-building project, not a single-mode chore. Finish Conquest, take care of the Piazza Moment, then keep a mixed Yankees-Mets group active until the stat missions disappear. You'll reach Franco, Mussina, Jeter, and Piazza with far fewer wasted games, and each card covers a meaningful role. After that, you can decide whether to buy MLB The Show Stubs for a specific upgrade or simply keep building around the free stars you've earned. That's a much better position to be in than spending early and trying to patch the same spots twice.
